Method Advisors believes that small market private equity is an essential component to a well-diversified portfolio. Investment in this area provides exposure to a segment of the private equity asset class with high return potential and a low correlation to the return of other assets classes. Persistent and exploitable market inefficiencies exist in the small private market that have allowed for consistently strong performance.

We emphasize small market buyout funds, which historically have produced greater returns than those generated by larger funds, on average. We focus on private equity funds with less than $500 million in capital, which typically invest in portfolio companies with enterprise values of $150 million or less. Our funds of funds consist typically of 10 to 15 underlying private equity funds. Together, this group of funds provides substantial diversification to investors, with exposure to approximately 200 private company investments.
